Like DJ Pierre and Frankie Knuckles, Marshall Jefferson aka Hercules was a true father figure of house music across the mid-eighties – laying the foundations for the sound that has defined generations.

Arguably responsible for more definitive acid house tracks than any other producer, the Chicago-based producer gave the world the first piano house anthem with the infectious “Move Your Body” in 1986 – released on the legendary Trax label – and has been dealing in the finest warehouse funk ever since.

The hypnotic, robotic rhythms of 1987’s “Lost In The Groove” (recorded as Hercules) remain a deep inspiration for your hosts Joe Hart and the Bodyhammer crew, while Jefferson’s washed out “Mushrooms” was a deep techno classic later on in his career.
